  BRIAN CALLAGHAN

About

Brian, also known as Flex, is a Scottish singer/songwriter and radio presenter, who as well as having solo hits such as Watch Me Go (youtu.be/K5WuTvS7m0w), was the front-man of former Glasgow band, The Highlanders, who were signed to Virgin/EMI Records. The band’s album, A Perfect Crime, was met with worldwide critical acclaim, producing hit songs such as Tell Me Things (youtu.be/_i69DnZMWHs) and Children Wonder Why (youtu.be/4Dq_9d48c2I). Despite this, Brian decided to leave the music business to pursue his ambition of becoming a doctor. Having done so successfully, he went on to win two international awards for his pioneering work in Psychology.

Brian has since raised his two children as a single parent. His son, Luke, has high special needs that require considerable funding.
Brian has returned to his original profession as a singer/songwriter/guitarist to create a fantastic new album, 'Circles of Life'. The debut show at Nice and Sleazy's on March 7th 2019 was a fantastic occasion.

Accompanying Brian on stage are these immensely talented musicians:
Gordon Wilson (drums)
Thomas McKay (bass)
Kevin ‘Morph’ Dobie (electric guitar)
Special mention to the legendary and sadly recently departed Ted McKenna, who played on Brian’s new album.

‘Brian is one of Scotland’s finest intuitive and technically able guitarist and musicians. A songwriter and singer more capable and distinctive than most of the best. If music enthusiasts want to discover something original, performed by great musicians, then ‘Brian Callaghan's new album, Circles of Life, is a rare opportunity not to be missed’. (Brooksy)
